Dr. Alejandro James, DDS

Dr. Alejandro James, a prosthodontist and professional dental speaker, recently created full arch dentures using HeyGears dental solutions. "By incorporating all of HeyGears' solutions, I can provide dental products to patients much faster than working with other production workflows."

Case Overview

A patient visited Dr. Alejandro James' dental office because they required dental implants. Dr. James took an intraoral scan of the patient's mouth and determined the best procedure for the operation.

Dr. James created a provisional full-arch maxillary implant prototype and determined the appropriate implant placement based on the prosthetic needs and design.

Dr. James used UltraPrint Surgical Guide UV resin to produce the base guide and implant guide, UltraPrint HP UV 3.0 to produce the diagnostic model, and UltraPrint Denture Teeth UV  to produce the provisional full arch denture.

Dr. James used a gingiva composite to create the gingiva surrounding the denture. Once complete, he attached the final provisional denture to the fixed-to-bone base guide. Once placed inside the patient’s mouth, he used a digital guidance sleeve (DGS) to insert the implants into the individual implant sleeves. A DGS eliminates the need for drill keys, protects the osteotomy from unwanted metal shavings, and allows direct irrigation into the implant.

Summary

HeyGears' UltraCraft ChairSide Pro managed to print all the required pieces for this operation to be successful. Dr. James uses the ChairSide Pro because it is fast and stable, which allows him to treat his patients in a single day as opposed to multiple visits by the patient or waiting for numerous days to get dental products from labs. Dr. James used HeyGears dental resins for his 3D printing requirements. UltraPrint Dental resins are medically certified materials specifically designed for the dental industry with a critical focus on the material properties that matter, such as aesthetics and strength.
