HeyGears Introduces UltraCraft A2D Ortho and Water Washable Material

Wednesday, November 06, 2019, 6pm: Last week at the DenTech China 2019 in Shanghai, HeyGears introduced its latest innovations in orthodontic application, a new member of the UltraCraft production system- A2D Ortho and an innovative material which can be washed by water instead of IPA. 

 

 

With high efficiency and integrated ecosystem, A2D Ortho fills the need for an industrial-grade professional 3D printer tailor-made for orthodontic production. With a large building volume, the printer can produce 8 orthodontic models in less than 20 minutes, addressing the growing demand of large-scale clear aligner manufacturers. A2D Ortho can also be connected to Ultra-net, achieving comprehensive visualization and seamless task management from data preparation to production. In the upcoming year of 2020, it can also be connected to the UltraCraft HiVE (High Volume Enabler) module to achieve 24-hour automated mass production. Aside from all the hardware innovations, HeyGears also presented a revolutionary material aims to provide our customers with a more sustainable and hassle-free operation environment- the UltraPrint Model WW (water washable). 

 

 

A2D Ortho

At DenTech China 2019, the global leading professional event for dental technology, HeyGears introduced A2D Ortho as a new member of the UltraCraft A series. Based on A2D, A2D Ortho is designed to address the need of dental labs and clear aligner manufacturers for automated mass production of orthodontic appliances. The building area of A2D Ortho is 192*108mm, 1.8 times that of A2D, plus the unparalleled speed to print 8 orthodontic models under 20 minutes. In addition to its high efficiency, A2D Ortho can also meet the requirement for accurate and smooth orthodontic models. 

“In orthodontic industry, the demand actually exceeds the supply. It is frustrating that our printers take so long to print out models.” said Mr. Huang, the head of a denture manufacturer. “I just got to know that HeyGears’ A2D Ortho allowed for such high-volume production. For us, that means not only lower costs, but also much higher efficiency.”

 

 

Water Washable Material

In addition to the new A2D Ortho system, HeyGears introduced its Water Washable Material as the compatible material for orthodontic application. When it comes to high volume production for example clear aligner models, the reduction of post processing procedures can be crucial to lower the overall cost of the manufacturer. Formulating the material to be water washable makes it possible to reduce the cost of IPA and creating a healthier working environment at the same time.  

 

At the exhibition, HeyGears also invited the visitors to experience the washing process. By using an ultrasonic cleanser and a bottle of mineral water, the visitors managed to clean the orthodontic model by themselves. The whole process took no more than 2 minutes.

 

 

“I was surprised that water was all we need to clean the dental models. Our employees were cleaning the models with alcohol every day. The lab was smelly and some of the employees even have got blisters on their hands,” said Mr. Lee, the owner of a dental lab.

The water washable material enables customers to work in a safer and cleaner environment while reducing the waste and costs. 

Comprehensive Ecosystem

A2D Ortho is supported by a comprehensive ecosystem. It can connect to Ultra-Net, a production management system, to allow visualization and traceability of the whole production process, including task management, status report and printer monitoring. It will also be able to connect with the UltraCraft HiVE (High Volume Enabler) module, ensuring efficient part removals and smooth swaps of building platforms. The integrated ecosystem will enable the dental labs and clear aligner manufacturers to achieve 24-hour automated mass production which takes digital dentistry to the next level. 

 

 

What is coming next?

HeyGears will introduce another new member of A2D series. With an unprecedented combination of properties on both the software and hardware level, the upcoming product will match the growing demand of both high precision and large building area.
