HeyGears’ Digital Impression Scanning Method
Dental technology has advanced drastically over the past couple of decades. Safer and more effective patient treatment methods have always been the driving factor behind dental innovation. Dental professionals currently lean toward using digital impressions instead of traditional impression methods.
Traditional Versus Digital Technology
Understanding the key differences between both methods is essential to informing dental professionals about the benefits it digital impresssions.
Digital impressions have clear strengths when compared to traditional impression methods. HeyGears Cloud can scan an impression tray, align the occlusion, and digitally design the abutment and crown in as little as 5 minutes. The traditional method of gypsum and gingiva mask casting takes up to 3 hours to produce an individual model. A digital impression scan is more accurate because it recreates a 3D scanned image of a model without any physical material. HeyGears UltraPrint-Dental material is highly durable because it is formulated to produce specific dental appliances.

Scanning Custom Impression Trays
The purpose of scans is to register implant positons accurately. HeyGears has developed a unique scanning software that maximizes the accuracy of the data collected.

Occlusion Alignment
The traditional way of confirming the occlusal relationship is done by physically connecting the gypsum models. HeyGears occlusion alignment software creates a scanned file which can automatically adjust the fit for an accurate and aligned bite registration.

HeyGears occlusion alignment software
HeyGears Occlusion Software
HeyGears occlusion alignment software identifies the center line, occlusal plane and position of the teeth. A simulation lowers the upper teeth and creates micro-vibrations to see create the optimal the occlusion relationship between both sets of teeth. An occlusion heat map is generated showing the points of contact between both sets of teeth. Once confirmed, the design process can begin.

Improved Accuracy with HeyGears' Scanning Process
HeyGears is the first in the industry to use the reverse angle structure to create a scanned abutment analog. It can accurately match with the implant data and includes data the traditonal abutment analog misses.

Benefits of HeyGear Abutment Analog
- Shorter - saves print time and resin material
- Triangular structure - minimizes the deviation of the abutment analog
- Exposed Abutment Thread - gives a visual reference, avoid blind operation
- Hinge Structure - easier for positioning and simplifies user experience
- Tapered Structure - easy insertion and minimizes abrasions
