Patient Case
Dr. Glen Justice recently treated a male patient, aged 58 years old, at BDG in Las Vegas. Upon intraoral examination, Dr. Justice was able to confirm the patient was suffering from advanced periodontal disease in the upper teeth #'s 7, 8, 9, and 10. The patient's treatment plan would be to remove teeth #7, 8, 9, and 10, insert 4 implants in their place, and then place an implant-supported bridge. The delivery time of temporary implants only takes 2 days, significantly shorter when compared to sending out dental cases to labs.
Figure 1 shows an x-ray of the patient's mouth and the location in which the implants were placed along the upper teeth #'s 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Dr. Justice used Temp C&B UV 2.0, which is used for the production of crowns and bridges. The resin has exceptional wear resistance and dimensional stability. Dr. Justice was able to match the color tone of the patient's teeth with the correct resin color tone to give the patient a realistic aesthetic appearance.
Figure 2 shows the 3D-printed implant-supported bridge of upper teeth #’s 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Figure 3 shows a comparison between the patient's pre-treatment and post-treatment photographs.
Dr. Justice used an UltraCraft printer for the production of the patient's dental appliance. HeyGears Design was used for pre-processing purposes. The quality of HeyGears printers, speed, and ease of use is why BDG prefers to use our printers for expedited dental cases.
The patient was treated at BDG in Las Vegas, Nevada, by Glen Justice, DDS at BDG. Dr. Justice holds a doctor of dental surgery degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry and was previously chairman and member of the Southern Nevada Dental Society Peer Review Committee. Dr. Justice was also a Disciplinary Screening Officer for the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners.
